MAC – Light Affair: Swatches and Review

First thank you all so much for participating in my giveaway and following my blog. A big welcome to all my new followers and subscribers!
When the first product pictures from MAC’s Love Lace collection came out I was almost immediately interested in the one nail polishes that would be released with this collection. A light grey-ish, beige-ish, lavender-ish creme? Want!
Now I love MAC but I am not always a fan of their nail polishes. I had Peppermint Patti but after I read so many bad things about the application and that BarryM’s Mint Green is a close dupe I sold it without even using it once. My love for MAC’s nailpolishes came back when they released Mercenary with the Style Warrior collection and after I had seen the swatches of Light Affair on Steph’s and ALU’s blog I knew that I had to have it.
MAC describes the color of Light Affair as a creamy pale grey taupe but I do see a bit of lavender too. Not much but it is there. I will compare it to China Glaze’s Light As Air from the Up&Away collection (a review and swatches of the Up&Away collection are here) but unfortunately today the lighting is too bad to get decent daylight pictures.
The application was not as bad as I thought it would be when I think of MAC’s previous creme nail polishes. Light Affair needed three coats to be opaque without visible brush strokes.
Do you already have caved and bought Light Affair? I don’t own Essie’s Body Language so I can’t compare them but if I would have Body Language I might have bought Light Affair anyhow because I am not a big fan of sheers.
Because of the crazy limited MAC stock here in Germany Light Affair was sold out pretty quick. But with a stock of maybe only 3 to 10 per Counter I am not wondering. But MAC and the stock here is another story.

Love the colour, although at first I thought it to be a bit of an odd one. I have a thing for colours one cannot describe clearly and that change a bit with the light
Thanks for the swatches
I am glad that you love Light Affair now hun!
I do love odd colors like Light Affair too. Plus I am a sucker for light cremes (well.. light cremes that work with my skintone… Peachy Keen I am hinting at you!
).
Light Affair is so pretty…I am so glad I picked it up….Now if I had someone to come paint my nails for me…”sigh”
I am glad you picked it up too Tish! Such a lovely nail polish! I wish we would live closer to do some manicure sessions together.
There have been a bunch of MAC polishes that I’ve been tempted to get in recent collections, but I always stop myself because every time I’ve tried a MAC polish, it chips SO quickly. It’s sad, there are so many great colours, including this one!
