I don’t know about you but I’ve been stalking nail blogs for ages. There are so many blogs out there now but very few with impeccable swatches and really pic oriented like Jeanette’s. Actually she’s been one of my biggest nail crushes ever and when I finally jumped into the blogging bandwagon, I had the pleasant surprise to discover that she’s also one of the sweetest girls ever, always a nice word for everyone. Imagine how honored and thrilled I felt when she asked me to write a guest post for her!
So, here we are. If you don’t know my blog, which is very likely, if there’s one thing I love, it’s duochromes, that and frankens… And layerings too. Oh and probably anything blue… And vampy colors, apart from holos of course! Ok, I admit, I’m a nail addict ; ) I hope you’ll enjoy this post just as much as I enjoyed swatching and writting it.
It all started with a layering idea: shimmer, multichrome glitter and duochrome topcoat. But I needed a base color, the newly acquired Yves Saint Laurent Wintergreen was the perfect pick. Here it is alone:
Isn’t it the perfect teal shimmer? Formula was amazing too, 2 nice and easy coats, it applied like butter. But as “perfect” as it is, I had to spice it up a bit.
Venom is a franken I posted a few weeks ago, it’s a multichrome glitter, green/purple and a little bit of pink and gold. But I had to do something new for Jeanette so I frankened Toxin, a duochrome shimmer topcoat, small sparse particles shifting from green to purple.
Here’s the final result, first in full lighting. The green glitter and shimmer are the most obvious in this angle but if you look closely at the edges, you can see how they’re just waiting to come to life.
This is 2 coats of YSL Wintergreen and one of each Venom and Toxin:
And here’s what it looks like most of the time:
Well that’s it for today, I hope you enjoyed this little peek inside of my nail world. Jeanette thank you so much for letting me post on your awesome blog! ♥♥♥
