Cult Nails – Hypnotic collection for Fall 2011: Swatches and Review

Cult Nails Hypnotic Fall 2011 Hypnotize In a Trance Enigmatic Awakening Swatch Swatches Review

Finally! :)
I’ve been wanting to swatch the Cult Nails Hypnotic collection for Fall 2011 for quite a while but horrible peeling and breaking nails sadly came in between. Maria’s nail polishes have a special place in my heart and I wanted to show them the best way possible for me which sadly was meaning I had to wait till my nails are in a better shape. Yesterday the length was right for my first swatch session in months and of course I wanted to swatch the Cult Nails Hypnotic for Fall 2011 collection first. 😀
My nail luck ended after the swatch session but more on that later. Let’s take a look at Maria’s beautiful Hypnotic collection! :)

Awakening

Awakening is such a gorgeous dusty teal cream. It’s like a more yellow toned version of MAC Blue India which is one of my favorite cream nail polishes. The formula was a bit more on the thinner side and I needed three coats for full opacity. I wish it would be a bit more opaque but then on the other hand with three coats it looks a bit like a jelly so I don’t mind applying three coats.
Enigmatic

I think I went a little picture crazy with Enigmatic but how couldn’t I? I just adore the purple and copper shimmer in the blackened burgundy base but there is more. The cherry on top of this beauty are the silver shimmer flecks. They give Enigmatic even more depth.
The formula was on the thinner side too and I needed three coats for full coverage. When I look at the finished look on the nails though I don’t mind applying three coats if a nail polish looks that gorgeous.

Because Hypnotize Me is a layering nail polish to me I didn’t apply it on its own but on Awakening, Enigmatic and In a Trance. The formula of Hypnotize Me is very thick – almost gel-like – but its glitter still spreads easily and evenly with just one coat. I adore glitter and the glitter in Hypnotize Me is stunning. The royal blue and aqua small square shaped glitter is almost glowing!
In the pictures I am wearing one coat of top coat and for a smooth finish you probably need two coats of top coat or one thick coat of Seche Vite.

In a Trance screames Fall to me. I love olive greens in Fall and In a Trance makes no exception. The medium olive green base is full of gold shimmer and I also can see either emerald green or blue shimmer in it. With two coats this beauty was opaque.

The Hypnotic nail polishes were sent to me by Cult Nails for review consideration.

Maria made the dream of a nail polish blogger to create and sell her own nail polishes come true and all of her nail polishes are special. The formula of her shimmer and cream nail polishes is high shine and her glitters are simply stunning. I am looking forward to see what she will create with Cult Nails in the future and I can’t wait till my preordered two bottles of the famous Unicorn Puke will arrive.

Are you planning to pick something from the Hypnotic collection up? :)

Sadly just right after my swatch session the middle nail of my swatch hand broke again for the third time in a row. The nail growth treatment really messed up my nails. :( But at least the breakage isn’t as bad as the last two times so I hope I can make my next swatch session next weekend.

Thanks for looking and have a great week! ♥
