Layering NOTD: Pure Ice – Heart Breaker over NYX – Gilded Glitter over Collistar – Melanzana Glitter (Aubergine Glitter)

Though I still loved how Collistar Melanzana Glitter (Aubergine Glitter) looked on my nails I started to have a layering idea in my mind a few hours ago that I needed to try immediately.
I love layerings with mixing different textures like layering a sheer shimmer/shimmery top coat over a glitter which is layered over a sparkly nail polish. To achieve this look I picked two of my favorite layering nail polishes: NYX Girls Gilded Glitter and Pure Ice Heart Breaker.

Without much rambling let’s go straight to the additional pictures :) – I can feel a headache coming so I will crawl on my couch in a bit. :(

POST FAQ
Coats used
Collistar – 42 Melanzana Glitter / Aubergine Glitter: two
NYX Girls – Gilded Glitter: one
Pure Ice – Heart Breaker: two
Base coat and top coat
Base coat: OPI – Nail Envy Matte
Top Coat: Essence – Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer

Oh dear.. Pure Ice Heart Breaker is a must have for every layering enthusiast and so is NYX Gilded Glitter. I loved the multichrome shimmer of Heart Breaker so much that I added two coats instead of one. This covers the base nail polish Melanzana Glitter up more and you only see a few coppery sparkles show up between the green/teal/blue multichrome deliciousness of Heart Breaker but I don’t mind. 😀

What are your favorite layering nail polishes which you consider must-haves?

Thanks for looking and have a great week! ♥ :)

  1. Oh man, every time I see Gilded Glitter I fall even deeper in love with it! How do you think it compares to the CND 24K flakes, which is a little easier for me to obtain? I just love gold flakes in general; they just look super awesome.

    • Gilded Glitter is stunning, right elbee? :)
Sheer 24 K Sparkle and Gilded Glitter are very different. The glitter flecks in Gilded Glitter are metal-like or as if they are made of foil while the glitter flecks in Sheer 24k Sparkle look more like glass flecks and they are also not opaque and you still can see a bit of what is underneath them through them. HTH! :)
