It wouldn’t have taken much more time and I would have been too late to the Dior Garden Party because 504 Waterlily – one of the two nail polishes released with Dior’s Spring 2012 collection Garden Party next to 694 Forget-Me-Not – was already sold out at most perfumeries I checked. Luckily I still could find this gorgeous and bit muted pastel green nail polish at one online store. A day later it was already sold out there too.
You could almost interpret Waterlily as Dior’s take on the high sought after and often duped Chanel Jade but Waterlily is no dupe for Jade. The mint green base color of Waterlily is warmer than the base color of Jade and the in contrast to the base cooler toned green shimmer is more fine and less flecked.
Even though purple and green are my favorite nail polish colors I have a weakness for pastel green/mint green nail polishes. I am glad I could purchase Waterlily even though I was already a bit late. What makes me love Waterlily even more is the soft rose scent. I was sceptical at first if I would like the scent or if it would make me nauseous but I love it. Even through the layer of top coat I still could notice the delicate rose scent.
The application was a bit streaky at first but it evened out with the second coat.
Have you picked up anything from the Dior Garden Party collection and what do you think about scented nail polishes?
Thanks for looking and have a great week! ♥
