Dior – Garden Party Spring 2012 – 504 Waterlily nail polish: Swatches, Photos and Review

Dior 504 Waterlily from Garden Party Spring 2012 Vernis nail polish swatch swatches photos review

It wouldn’t have taken much more time and I would have been too late to the Dior Garden Party because 504 Waterlily – one of the two nail polishes released with Dior’s Spring 2012 collection Garden Party next to 694 Forget-Me-Not – was already sold out at most perfumeries I checked. Luckily I still could find this gorgeous and bit muted pastel green nail polish at one online store. A day later it was already sold out there too.
You could almost interpret Waterlily as Dior’s take on the high sought after and often duped Chanel Jade but Waterlily is no dupe for Jade. The mint green base color of Waterlily is warmer than the base color of Jade and the in contrast to the base cooler toned green shimmer is more fine and less flecked.

Even though purple and green are my favorite nail polish colors I have a weakness for pastel green/mint green nail polishes. I am glad I could purchase Waterlily even though I was already a bit late. What makes me love Waterlily even more is the soft rose scent. I was sceptical at first if I would like the scent or if it would make me nauseous but I love it. Even through the layer of top coat I still could notice the delicate rose scent.
The application was a bit streaky at first but it evened out with the second coat.

Have you picked up anything from the Dior Garden Party collection and what do you think about scented nail polishes?

Thanks for looking and have a great week! ♥ :)

I have not yet but definitely picking up Waterlily as well as the Garden Pastels eyeshadow quint (two greens, then golden, pink and pearly white), both are insanely beautiful and awesome for spring, evoking that special mood, fortunately where I live I could still find one of each and put them on hold. Cannot wait to give them a try this weekend.

  2. I got both polishes and I love them both! I thought I could be satisfied with just Waterlily but I saw some more swatches I found that I simply MUST have Forget-Me-Not as well. When I wore Waterlily I couldn’t stop looking at my hands; it looked so fresh and chic on my nails. I find the rose scent of these pleasant but in general I am wary of scented polishes–I have some from Revlon that smell so strongly it nearly knocks me down!
