Next to Essence also Catrice released their Spring/Summer assortment in the last weeks. Both Essence and Catrice belong to the same parent company Cosnova and update parts of their assortment twice a year.
I picked three new Catrice nail polishes up so far: King Of Greens (740), Heavy Metallilac (800) and Genius In The Bottle (840). Today I am showing you the gorgeous warm purple Heavy Metallilac.

Isn’t Heavy Metallilac gorgeous? The contrast between the warmer magenta shimmer to the cooler toned saturated medium purple base is giving this nail polish depth and makes it look like it is glowing. The shimmer is somewhere between a metallic and a frosty finish but – because I am not really a fan of frosts – luckily more on the metallic side. The application was great and Heavy Metallilac covered after two coats.

With the new Spring/Summer 2012 products Catrice changed the brushes of their nail polishes. Now the brush is wider and has a rounded tip. Not as rounded as the Dior brush but somewhat similar. To my surprise I actually like it even though I wasn’t too happy about the change when I saw pictures of the new brush. After the first manicures with it I made good experiences though. The only issues I always have with wide brushes is that they are almost as wide or sometimes even wider than my pinkie nail. This often makes a mess while applying nail polish on my pinkie nail and the new Catrice brush was close to beeing too wide but it works.

Have you picked up any new products from the Catrice Spring/Summer 2012 assortment yet and how do you like them if yes? :)

As you might have noticed I changed my layout a bit today. I reduced the two sidebars on the right to one sidebar and made the content area bigger so that I can have bigger pictures. I hope you like it. :)

  1. I like this shade but I’m not 100% in love with the polish, as I don’t like frosts, too (it looks great on you, anyway).
Moreover I really hated last “new” Catrice brushes – the ones they used for Welcome to Las Vegas LE, the rounded tip makes it harder for me to paint neatly near cuticles :-(

    • Yes the new Catrice brush shape is very special. I like it but there are so many others that don’t like it maisenzasmalto. :( Big and rounded brushes like this don’t go well with every nail shape but a brush needs to work for everyone. :(

  2. This colour is spectacular! I wish I had bought this one too when I got Genious in the bottle, but I’ll definetly go back and grab one bottle :)
