Summery diagonal gradient manicure featuring Illamasqua Insanity, Alarm and Stance

I couldn’t resist and did it again. :D
The new and much smoother technique by Sammy from The Nailasaurus still makes me love and adore gradient nails so I had to try another gradient manicure today.
This time I wanted to raise the difficulty level a bit with making a gradient with three instead of two colors and also sponge a diagonal gradient instead of a straight gradient. I was also in the mood for bright colors so I picked Illamasqua Insanity (bright orange), Alarm (bright red) and Stance (vivid purple with fuchsia undertones).

The result of the combination of Insanity, Alarm and Stance is a bright and fun summer manicure and I am really happy how it turned out. :)

So bright it almost makes my eyes hurt while staring at my nails. The orange Insanity is even brighter in real life. ♥

POST FAQ
Availability Illamasqua nail polishes
Illamasqua nail polishes can be purchased at illamasqua.com for currently £13.50 a bottle or at selected Sephora stores and sephora.com for currently $14 a bottle. The official Illamasqua store ships international. Sadly Insanity isn’t available at Illamasqua and Sephora so it might be discontinued but the neon orange Gamma would work too.

Illamasqua – Insanity: two
Sponging coats used

Base coat: OPI – Nail Envy Matte
Top Coat: Essence – Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer
Illamasqua nail polishes contain 15 ml.
Insanity, Alarm and Stance were sent to me by Illamasqua for review consideration.

Sadly I couldn’t find Insanity on the Illamasqua and Sephora websites so it might be discontinued. If you have Illamasqua Gamma – a neon orange – it would work too just as any other bright orange.

For this gradient manicure I needed to sponge four coats of the gradient on each nail to get a nice transition especially between the red Alarm and the purple Stance but it was worth it and I love the result. This gradient manicure looks like a summery cocktail and even makes me a bit thirsty. :D

Have you tried a gradient manicure in the meantime and if yes did you like the result?

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend! ♥

Love this! You’ve done a really good job at getting the transition from one color to the other so smooth! How do you get your photos so sharp when you’re close up? Mine always come out a little blurry when I’m in the macro setting. Beautiful post and beautiful swatches, as always!

The macro setting of my compact camera is really good but after cropping and resizing the pictures I need to sharpen them again. :(

I used triangle foundation sponges too (the cheapest ones from the drugstore). It just takes practice so don’t give up! :)
