Striped and mirrored diagonal gradient manicure featuring Lynnderella Bride of Franken as sparkles on top

The thing about feeling inspired is you have the urge to translate the inspiration immediately into a new manicure which led to my fourth gradient manicure. :D The inspiration was too strong to resist.

Yesterday I picked up three nail polishes from the limited edition Manhattan Buffalo collection. The two creams 18 Robin Boot and 20 Blue Suede Toes screamed gradient nails to me but I wanted to add a third color. The best match for another color to go with the bright teal and blue had to be a purple so I picked the sadly also limited edition p2 Deep Purple from last years’ Flour Hour collection. It is like a brighter version of China Glaze Grape Pop or OPI Funky Dunkey.
The second part of the inspiration was a retweet by Rie from Nails and Noms where I saw the gorgeous striped gradient manicure by Mimi from Makeup Withdrawal. Why haven’t I discovered her blog sooner? I love it! :)

As a cherry on top of this gradient manicure I wanted to add something sparkly, something special and also a nail polish which wouldn’t cover too much of the striped gradient. Lynnderella Bride of Franken was the perfect pick. ♥

The purple of p2 Deep Purple mixed with Blue Suede Toes while sponging and isn’t as purple anymore – more a blurple – but I love how the gradient turned out. To play with the gradients again I mirrored the diagonal gradients from nail to nail.

Because every drop of Lynnderella Bride of Franken is special to me I wanted to savor it on top of a special manicure and I think this striped gradient manicure is it. :)

With this gradient manicure I had like a gradient nails theme week on my blog. :D I just love gradients and they are now much easier and smoother to make now that I follow Sammy’s technique. I will wear one color manicures for the next week though to be fresh for new possible gradients. There are so much more possibilities to play with them!

I also shortened my nails a bit today. As much as I love long nails.. the minute they touch the keys from the keyboard while I type they need to be filed down. This feeling. *shudders* :D

Thanks for looking and have a great week! ♥

How did you do the stripes though? Did you tape them off?

Yes I used nail art striping tape which I removed after sponging the gradient over the nails Kate & Zena. :)
