You need to sure for intellectual property rights. Companies are going to keep doing this until they have to pay for their theft.
SinfulColors is not one person. They are a large corporation. Thinking that the actions of anyone in that company fully reflect that company as a whole is a mistake.
I also have a hard time believing that anyone from SC intentionally went looking online for pictures to steal for their display. More likely they contracted someone to create the materials; these sorts of contracts typically go to companies 1) with good portfolios 2) who bid low. And unfortunately, there are people who legitimately believe that anything on the internet is free to anyone who knows how to copy/paste.
This doesn’t make it right and I honestly hope everyone whose images were stolen is given both an official apology and some sort of compensation.
As far as a boycott, I’m waiting to see what Sinful does next before I make that decision. I don’t think it’s fair to condemn the entire company without knowing how it happened, why and what they’re planning to do to fix it. But if this turns out to be “business as usual” or they refuse to take any sort of responsibility, I’m over them…
Outrageous! I will never purchase from Sinful Colours and I will boycott Revlon, too, unless they make it right.
In happier news, I’m glad you are feeling better and blogging again
