Be still my heart! ♥
Don’t you just love when brands still can surprise you? The release of the beautiful purple shimmer p2 Sensual Purple from their Mirror Mirror On The Wall collection was such a lovely surprise.
Sensual Purple is not really a unique color. It reminds me of NARS Purple Rain or China Glaze Let’s Groove but to see such a rich and deep shimmer from German drugstore brands doesn’t happen very often. The other colors from the p2 Mirror Mirror On The Wall collection were much more the usual colors you see from p2: cremes. But with Sensual Purple they have outdone themselves.
As you see I couldn’t just let the p2 Sensual Purple manicure be and added Glequins on top of my ring finger nail. Glequins? Glequins are not glitter but also not sequins. Glequin, which was invented by Sammy from The Nailasaurus, fills the terminological gap in between glitter and sequins and Essence just released beautiful diamond shaped pink holographic Glequins with their new Superheroes trend edition.
p2 Sensual Purple is truly breathtaking. Its dark indigo or blurple base seems to be less saturated than the indigo bases of NARS Purple Rain or China Glaze Let’s Groove. The fuchsia Glequins from Essence have a beautiful subtle holographic effect and I just love how they look on top of Sensual Purple.
This is my first Glequin Manicure so I wanted make the placement of the Glequins easier for me with stamping some sort of a template on the nail first. The perfect pattern for these kind of Glequins is the harlekin pattern on the Konad m60 image plate. To make the stamping very subtle I used NailNation 3000 Fan-Tabulous. You then not only have a template but also a gorgeous and subtle holographic pattern on the nail.
The placement of the Glequins took quite some time on my rounded nails but I am happy how the accent nail turned out.
Not all Glequins in the Essence Superheroes effect nails set 02 are cut perfectly but for the price of 1,95 Euro I don’t mind.
Have you tried a Glequin Manicure yet? if yes how did you like it and.. how long did it take? Just this one nail took me about an hour but it was worth it. I just love how the Glequins sparkle.
Thanks for looking and have a great week! ♥
