Welcome to The Swatchaholic!

This blog is my little place in the interwebs where I love to talk and post pictures and swatches of nail polishes and sometimes makeup.

Nail polishes are (besides MAC or makeup in general) my biggest passion and I would love to share my passion with you on this blog. I have bought my first nail polish when I was a teenager and always have used a little bit of makeup like foundation, eyeliner and mascara but last summer both became a passion.
Through youtube I got more into makeup and slowly purchased some makeup by brands like Bobbi Brown and Benefit. But when I joined Specktra I became hooked on MAC. Since then my makeup collection has grown enormously and I love to look forward to new collections.

Of course my journey of discovering new products didn’t stop there. When I looked in the nail polish swatch thread on Specktra I clicked on a link to Scrangie’s blog and was hooked again. My nail polish world was limited to german drugstore brands and high end brands but soon after looking at the first swatches of brands like OPI, China Glaze and Zoya I recieved my first order of US nail polishes and fell in love. What I especially love about those brands is not only the huge variety of colors and finishes but also the bigger bottles. Yes dear big 14-18 ml bottles.. I adore you!
One fantastic side effect of beeing more into nail polishes was that my nails are now strong and healthy instead of weak and chippy.

The swatch facts
Since May 2011 I take all of my pictures in a lightbox. Before I switched between daylight and a lightbox. My MAC foundation shade is NC15. When I used Bobbi Brown foundations I wore Warm Ivory I think. As base for eyeshadows and pigments I use the ArtDeco Eyeshadow Base. On my nails I use OPI Nail Envy Original as a base coat and as a top coat I use Essie Good To Go, INM Out The Door or Seche Vite.

My current favorite nail polishes *desperately needs to be updated*

  • OPI – Russian Navy
  • OPI – Dear Santa
  • China Glaze – Emerald Sparkle
  • China Glaze – Wagon Trail
  • China Glaze – Gussied Up Green
