MAC: In The Groove – Band Of Roses MB and By Candlelight MSF

Hi everyone!

One of my (many) makeup weaknesses are cheek products. I just love an can’t get enough of them!
With their In The Groove collection MAC has released some great cheek products and so of course I had to make a haul.
Stereo Rose swatches? No. Of course not because when I looked online it was already sold out and I didn’t even tried it at the Counter and Store. With this hype, the ridiculously limited stock and a fulltime job I had no chance to get a Stereo Rose by myself. Well done MAC! Oh how I love your “Oh we can only ship a handful of stock to our Counters and Stores because we want to appear as exclusive as possible”. Well your distribution policy exclusively sucks.

Why does MAC then even bother to send informations about upcoming collection to magazines which then often publish the recommendations weeks after the launch or why does MAC send out newsletters a day or two after the launch when the most hyped products are already gone? Sadism?

Enough with the rant. I love MAC’s products. I really do. I am just slowly getting tired of the stress with their limited editions. But now let’s take a look at the two cheek products from In The Groove I hauled: Band Of Roses and By Candlelight.

MAC – Magic, Mirth, Mischief – Mineralized Blushes

Oh Superdupernatural and Conjure Up how beautiful you both are! :)

This year my wishlist for MAC’s holiday collections is quite small. The only two items I was eyeing were the two Mineralized Blushes. Not that I am not intrigued by other items like one or two of the Mineralized Eyeshadows or later some of the pigment sets but I can pass them.

I adore the texture of these two. Personally I wasn’t a fan of the Grand Duos or Colour Craft Mineralized Blushes because they were too glittery for me linking. I love to choose if I want to add a lot of shimmer with a Mineralized Skinfinish.. or not. So I was very happy when I’ve read on Specktra that the texture is like the ones from Sonic Chic/the perm line.

Now to the pictures :)

Dear Feeling, you remind me of …

… the blush Mauve from the Mauve Face Palette by Bobbi Brown that I am neglecting. I just don’t like lipsticks in a palette. :(

Bobbi Brown – Mauve; MAC – Feeling, Gleeful (It’s so pretty. I wanted to swatch it again :D )
In direct sunlight

Feeling has a bit of a sheen but otherwise Mauve and Feeling look pretty close.
I should stop neglecting the palette. :)

MAC – X-Rocks and other darker blushes

This is for you, Birgit! *smooches*

X-Rocks (Sheertone Shimmer Blush), Plum Du Bois (Powder Blush), Gleeful (Mineralize Blush)
Feeling
(Beauty Powder Blush), Love Thing (Mineralize Blush)
In direct sunlight

Plum Du Bois and X-Rocks are pretty close. X-Rocks has more shimmer/sheen to it and it is a tad warmer, though. :)

The lemming for MAC’s Emote …

… isn’t necessary at all. I wish I had known this earlier before I bought Emote on ebay. The LE item lemming had won again and so I bought it. :(

When I got it it looked so familar compared to the Sculpting Powder (Pro) in Sculpt I had that it sat untouched in my drawer until I recently sold it.

But before Emote leaves me I made some pictures. :)
