MAC: In The Groove – Band Of Roses MB and By Candlelight MSF

Hi everyone!

One of my (many) makeup weaknesses are cheek products. I just love an can’t get enough of them!
With their In The Groove collection MAC has released some great cheek products and so of course I had to make a haul.
Stereo Rose swatches? No. Of course not because when I looked online it was already sold out and I didn’t even tried it at the Counter and Store. With this hype, the ridiculously limited stock and a fulltime job I had no chance to get a Stereo Rose by myself. Well done MAC! Oh how I love your “Oh we can only ship a handful of stock to our Counters and Stores because we want to appear as exclusive as possible”. Well your distribution policy exclusively sucks.

Why does MAC then even bother to send informations about upcoming collection to magazines which then often publish the recommendations weeks after the launch or why does MAC send out newsletters a day or two after the launch when the most hyped products are already gone? Sadism?

Enough with the rant. I love MAC’s products. I really do. I am just slowly getting tired of the stress with their limited editions. But now let’s take a look at the two cheek products from In The Groove I hauled: Band Of Roses and By Candlelight.

Comparison: MAC Ever Hip, Jazzed and Dressmaker Dressmaker lipsticks

Hi everyone!

About a year ago or even more than a year ago I started my lipstick and lipglass no-buy. It went perfectly. MAC released new pretty lipsticks and lipglasses every couple of weeks but I stayed strong. They didn’t tempt me. I was so proud of myself!

But then MAC had enough of my willpower. Something had to happen. And then it did. MAC released Ever Hip with their Give Me Liberty Of London collection and from then on my willpower was broken and I bought 7 more lipsticks.

With Ever Hip I also discovered my love for coral lipsticks and no wonder that number 7 of my since the end of the no-buy purchased lipsticks was another coral!

Let’s take a look at how Jazzed from this weeks released In The Groove collection compares to Ever Hip and Dressmaker, Dressmaker from Prêt-â-Papier.

NOTD: MAC – Blue India

Oh dear Blue India how I love thee! :)

Hands down, MAC’s Blue India nail polish from the Give Me Liberty Of London collection is one of my favorite nail polishes right now. I love the color, the formula, the bottle.. sigh I love everything about it.
It is a very unique color in my collection but I also don’t own many muted dark teals yet so I can’t tell how unique it really is.

Let’s take a closer look at this gorgeous muted teal and at how it looks on MAC foundation shades:

Bottle Comparison: Grays

This is for you, Marta! :)

Today I’d like to show you the gray creme nail polishes I have in my collection in another bottle comparison post. I always love to look at bottle comparison posts myself as well and I am very glad that you like them, too!

My love for gray nail polish started when MAC released On The Prowl with their Hello Kitty collection and since then I am always excited when a brand releases new gray nail polishes.

Let’s take a look at the five gray nail polishes I have in my collection so far. :)

Comparison: MAC – Seasonal Peach & Essie – Van D’Go

And the search for a Seasonal Peach dupe continues. :(

When I saw Brooke’s swatches of Essie’s Van D’Go my hopes to finally find a dupe for my beloved Seasonal Peach by MAC crushed.
In the bottle Van D’Go and Seasonal Peach look like twins but on the nails not so much. Like Brooke wrote Van D’Go dries to a darker and less pinker color than the bottle color.

I hope someday a brand will release the perfect Seasonal Peach dupe. However I wouldn’t mind a dupe with a better formula.

But now let’s take a look at the swatches to see how different Essie’s Van D’Go is to MAC’s Seasonal Peach. :)
