OPI – a rant

If you follow me and other beloved nail polish bloggers on Twitter you sure already have read about the OPI drama. If not: OPI apparently is threatening recommending etailers not to sell their products online and suing etailers that still do.
I am beyond disappointed in OPI and I just had to write the following rant off my chest:

NOTD: OPI – OPI Ink

Very long time no NOTD. :o
I wasn’t feeling well in the last week so I had a little break from nail polish.

It started when I applied a nail polish I was really excited about: OPI’s Jade Is The New Black. Such a stunning color.
A beauty to look at and the application was great. But then.. just after less than a day just right in time before I could take pictures.. it chipped. Because I wasn’t feeling well anyhow I couldn’t be bothered to even remove it and so I just applied Nail Envy over the chipped spots to at least protect my nails. I was wearing this “look” for a few days and then I removed it and just applied Nail Envy.

But of course the craving for a new manicure came back so I picked a classic to celebrate my love for nail polish: OPI’s OPI Ink. :D

Let’s take a closer look at this stunning classic purple beauty:

NOTD: OPI – Calendar Girl over China Glaze – High Hopes

Today I’d like to show you one of my favorite layerings. :)

OPI’s Calendar Girl is such a beauty in the bottle. A bright raspberry pink base with pink shimmer but you can already see in the bottle that this nail polish is quite sheer. I only have made a manicure with it once and still had a visible nail line after four coats so I forgot about this nail polish.

I sometimes thought about using Calendar Girl for layering but I haven’t had the perfect base color for it.. but then I got China Glaze’s High Hopes.

Comparison: Chanel – Particulière & OPI – You Don’t Know Jacques & Essie – Mink Muffs

I did it. I got weak and ordered Chanel’s Particulière. *puts head down in shame*

After it was sold out online I felt this lemming and that my nail polish loving friend Birgit told me that its sold out in Switzerland didn’t help much either. So I went to my local perfumery and it was sold out too. I was the 14th or more customer that asked for it in the last days.

I was ready to forget about it and move on but then.. on a morning while browsing through a german online store I saw it. It was back in stock. :o
I had no other choice but to put it in my basket and I saw that only six were left. Pressing the submit order button never felt better. :D

I don’t have much taupes in my collection yet but lets take a look at how Particulière looks compared to OPI’s You Don’t Know Jacques, Essie’s Mink Muffs and the limited edition Chocolate Shake by Essence.
