(yummy) Layering NOTD: CND – Jade Sparkle over Zoya – Mimi

Hi everyone!

Today I’d like to show you the layering NOTD which I had to postpone due to the Chanel Paradoxal mail and dupe emergency: How CND’s Jade Sparkle looks over a purple nail polish.

One of my current favorite purple nail polishes is Zoya’s Mimi and after wearing it for a day or two I wanted to spice it up. Just a few days earlier I got three more Sparkle Effects in the mail with an order and because I love the contrast between purple and green I just had to pick Jade Sparkle and I am glad I did. The shimmery purple base paired with green/jade sparkles.. loves it!

Zoya – Mimi, three coats
CND – Jade Sparkle, one coat

Comparison: Nars – Purple Rain & China Glaze – Let’s Groove & Zoya – Yasmeen

One of the current most popular nail polishes surely is Purple Rain by NARS. When I saw the first swatches of Purple Rain I knew that I had to have it.

I only rarely buy expensive nail polishes but this dark shimmery purple.. I had to buy it and it was love at first swatch. :D

However when I’ve read that there are two possible dupes available with China Glaze’s Let’s Groove and Zoya’s Yasmeen I had to get them as well. Not only to compare them but especially because the little backup devil wanted me to buy a Purple Rain backup and I didn’t wanted to cave. You are not winning this time, backup devil.. hear me!? :D

Let’s take a closer look at how close Let’s Groove and Yasmeen are to Purple Rain. Dupe or no dupe? Let’s find out. :)

KOTD: Imperial Purple

Or is Royal Purple a better name? Somehow the combination of purple and gold always makes me think royal. :)

I love to konad-ify a manicure with Konad when I am already wearing a nail polish for two or more days and today it was about time to add some layered Konad to OPI’s OPI Ink. :D

Because I adore layered konadicures I picked China Glaze’s LOL as my Konad base stamping nail polish and China Glaze’s 2030 for the gold stamping.

Purple and gold.. these two colors are meant for each other. Love love love them together!

NOTD: OPI – OPI Ink

Very long time no NOTD. :o
I wasn’t feeling well in the last week so I had a little break from nail polish.

It started when I applied a nail polish I was really excited about: OPI’s Jade Is The New Black. Such a stunning color.
A beauty to look at and the application was great. But then.. just after less than a day just right in time before I could take pictures.. it chipped. Because I wasn’t feeling well anyhow I couldn’t be bothered to even remove it and so I just applied Nail Envy over the chipped spots to at least protect my nails. I was wearing this “look” for a few days and then I removed it and just applied Nail Envy.

But of course the craving for a new manicure came back so I picked a classic to celebrate my love for nail polish: OPI’s OPI Ink. :D

Let’s take a closer look at this stunning classic purple beauty:

Focus on: p2 nail polishes
electric (169), gorgeous (171) & rebel (200)

After my Focus on: p2 nail polishes post where I showed you bottle pictures of the p2 nail polishes its time for swatches! :D
Please excuse that I had to rush with the application. Swatch sessions and disappearing daylight don’t go well together. I took the pictures of all p2 nail polish swatches before I shortened my nails. It hurts a little to see them long again now. But they will grow back and it was a good thing to shorten them because the minor peeling could have gotten worse.

Today I want to start with the first three p2 nail polishes from the introduction post: electric (169), gorgeous (171) and rebel (200). Its important to name their numbers too because p2 sometimes uses nail polish names that are already used in the perm line for limited edition nail polishes. :o
