KOTD: Spring And Summer

Hello dear readers!
Very, very long time no post, I am so sorry!

Due to my new job I am in the middle of working on a new blogging schedule and also picture set-up. During the week I only can take pictures in the evening or early in the morning but the lighting often is still or already too dark. :(
I hope the lighting will bear with me in the future but at least the weekend can always be full of nail polish fumes deliciousness. :D

On Friday I did my MAC To The Beach haul *in love* and I got a little inspired by the packaging. I was already wearing ModelsOwn’s Green Grass so today I decided to play a bit with this manicure. I don’t have any sea shell stamping motif so I had to pick a flower haha. :D

KOTD: Royal Olive

When I finally got my hands on Sephora by OPI’s 212 I knew with which nail polish I’d like to try a konadicure: p2′s Glory (247). Glory is in the same color family – it is just lighter.
Because Glory isn’t a one coater I knew that the stamping would be subtle but I love subtle stampings.

Something about 212 and Glory make me think.. royal. Like the colors of clothes you would wear on a royal hunting trip? If that makes sense. :D
The perfect full nail motif for this look is the plaid pattern on Konad’s m64.

This manicure was a rush job so the pattern and rhinestone are not perfectly aligned but I love how this subtle stamping looks. On my ring finger I first just wanted to stamp the crown from Konad’s m40 image plate but because my nailbeds are pretty narrow I had no idea how to place it properly. Then I thought.. why not stamping two crowns to create a new shape? :)

KOTD: Oh.. hai spring!

I must confess.. I am not a fan of spring or summer. The heat? I don’t like it. The insects? The horror! I am a late fall and winter kind of girl. But with Nubar’s Greener on my nails and the craving for a new konadicure I thought.. why not a spring inspired konadicure? :)

KOTD: Vampy Valentine

Sigh.. how much I adore Milani’s Black Magic halloween collection. They are my favorite base nail polishes for layered Konads. :)

When I thought about which Valentines Day inspired konadicure I could do I thought hmm.. how about a vampy Valentines Day manicure? It was a no-brainer that Milani’s Whimsical with its pink glitter would be the perfect base color for Vampy Valentine. :D

I wanted the rose pattern from the m65 image plate to be very subtle so I picked Zoya’s Drew for the first layer of stamping. The hearts from Konad’s m3 image plate needed to stand out more so I picked China Glaze’s Admire for the second layer of stamping.
Pink heart shaped rhinestones from a rhinestone set by Essence (the German brand will be available at Ulta in the US soon) on my ring finger and thumb completed the look.

KOTD: Love Lace

Today it was time to take off my Hello Kitty manicure and to make something new. I am impressed that I still had no tipwear but the manicure was already growing out what doesn’t look so nice with a black nail polish as a base color. :(

When MAC’s Love Lace collection was released here I wasn’t sure if I wanted to buy the one nail polish Light Affair that was released with it. However after seeing swatches the lemming came back and I am glad that I caved.

A Love Lace konadicure was the second MAC look that came into my mind when I thought about which MAC collections I could use as an inspiration for a konadicure. In contrast to the MAC Hello Kitty konadicure I wanted to something more simple and classy.

The m71 image plate includes my favorite Lace motifs and instead of using the Konad special polish in black I used the black creme nail polish from p2. I just don’t like how the Konad special polishes smear when you add a layer of top coat. Not pretty. :(

But now to the pictures. :)
